Injured at District Conference

Last night we had District Conference which is basically a meeting to prepare for another big meeting. As a United Methodist Pastor, one of the things that we have to endure is some rather long, sometimes boring meetings. I don’t sit still well so I struggle with them, but our Executive Pastor Sharon keeps herself occupied by taking apart pens and then putting them back together. [I think she secretly longs to be an engineer] In the middle of District Conference last night, I saw her and our Administrative Manager Penny Voss fumbling around for some kleenex. Evidently, Sharon sliced her finger open while trying to pass the time.
After “the incident” Sharon put her pen away and sat quietly throughout the rest of the meeting. What’s the moral of the story? Boring meetings can be hazardous to your health.

Great story from District Conference!
Any insight about the pressing issues coming up in 2 weeks? None were pointed out at our District Conference.

I can tell when all the luncheons will take place and what time the orientations sessions is for new conference delegates, and that we each get $100 if we do the Healthflex Quotient online… Nothing earth-shattering.
I’m sure it’s the same stuff you’ve already heard many times before.

I’ll give you both lessons in sitting quietly and attentively at such functions

That has to be one of the funniest things I’ve heard in a long time.
