Preparing for Tuesday

The Transformation Journey Bible study officially kicks off in two days, and I’m eagerly awaiting the start of this new adventure. I have been energized by the shared desire to walk through the Bible together that has really created a “buzz” in our church. That’s exciting to see.

We’ve set Tuesday nights to run for 60 minutes each week to honor the time of all who are participating and we felt like an hour session each week would increase people’s ability to participate. We’re going to be very faithful to that commitment that we’ve made even in weeks like this first session when we have a ton of ground to cover. Yesterday I spent an hour in my office working through my notes and writing out all the themes I felt like we needed to cover from the first two weeks of reading which covered Genesis and Exodus. Here is what I came up with.

Clear as mud right. Here’s what I can say after eight years of preaching. That’s a whole lot more than 60 minutes worth! So I’ll be spending the next few days condensing and seeing how I can tie pieces together to make effecient use of our time. We may not cover all the way through the end of Exodus, but we shouldn’t have any problem rolling the last bit into the following week’s session on Leviticus. Right now I’m thinking our session in two weeks will focus very heavily on the Temple and the sacrificial system that was associated with the Temple during the early days of Judaism.

In the meantime, if you have topics/questions/issues from Genesis & Exodus that you think we need to cover, I’d love to hear your feedback as I synthesis over the next few days. Just drop me a comment below.

See you Tuesday!

David

David, Libby mentioned that she had been receiving daily info from the Bible Study from you. I have only received one. Are you mad at me because I haven't returned the evaluation of church staff that you asked for last Friday? (For which I apologize and will bring tonight!) ~Sherry Brown
