The Amazon Kindle

My new Amazon Kindle arrived in the mail today. I haven’t had a chance to play around too much yet, but here’s some unboxing photos. If you’d like to know more about the Kindle, you can find that info here. I’ll post a review next week for anyone interested in this reading device.

I downloaded the Kindle for iPhone App.
I’m gonna check that out first to see how often I’d use it.
…but I was really impressed with the one you had.

So what will you read on it first? What was your first purchase for it?

I am just now reading this, I begged for a Kindle and got it in October when there was $50 off from the Oprah connection (1 week). The new one is same price and has audio reading. I love the Kindle, it is wonderful to have the Bible and Books right in my purse. I also can read it much better than paper print, I have a vision problem. I mentioned Enriques’ Journey, it is available on Kindle and that was why I do not have it to share. I believe, less paper, less mail can be nothing but an advantage. The prices are good and the classics for $0-$.99 is amazing. I will be glad when more papers and magazines become available. I also love that it opens where you left off and can have notes and page corners turned when you want to remember the comments. It took me a while to get the hang of getting the index of the Bible every time you change chapters, etc. but so much faster then thumbing through. Saves me time with Transformational Journal. I also got the attachable light and it works well at night, my night vision is very poor so I often use one of the (usually package of 3 or 4) stick up night battery lights they advertise for closets. They are wonderful beside the bed, just enough light to get up with and great in the suitcase! I LOve My KIndle. They are expensive but new technology is. $350 will also work with your computer for more functions.

David – Very cool. I am interested in your review and am considering one myself. I have enjoyed the Kindle for iPhone application.

David Yes this is the newest of a confusing array of gadgets–I read an article a couple weeks ago that some colleges plan to give students a Kindle and then the student would not buy textbooks– all the course material would be on the Kindle.

HmmmmMaybe I have not made up my mind on such an arrangement.
