For my birthday, a friend of mine helped me install an audio jack to play my iPod through my car stereo. I’m really excited about having some options as to the music I listen to in the car, but the main function I’m looking forward to is the ability to keep up with the podcasts I subscribe to while driving around town.

Recently it seems that every single day there is another reminder that the current economic crisis in America is hitting closer and closer to home for families in our community. Talks about lay-offs and the anxiety surrounding potential job loss is something I now hear almost everyday, and the needs of those who are already struggling financially also continue to grow. The crisis seems to be setting in, not moving on.

For a Baby shower gift, we received a DVD called Praise Baby which is basically a “Baby Einstein” style movie set to praise music. Unlike our daughter who took several years to discover the TV, our 7 month old son is mezmorized by the television. Last fall we decided that he was already a football fan after observing his blank stares at the TV.
